CHIROL
CHIROL
A mischievous white Pomeranian and loyal companion to Koeub, Chirol is the studio’s original star. His well-meaning pranks often spiral into chaos, dragging Koeub into trouble despite his innocent intentions.

Interestingly, Chirol made his debut five years before Koeub, first appearing in 1922. However, between 1922 and 1924, his design was noticeably different from the iconic look we recognize today.

Chirol doesn’t speak human language; instead, he communicates through expressive barks and exaggerated body gestures, creating comedic yet heartfelt interactions with Koeub.

According to surviving documents, Chirol’s distinctive vocalizations were performed by none other than the studio’s founder, Brian Makihisa—a detail that has become a beloved piece of studio folklore.
